We were invited to tour the F&B facilities of AlQasr Metropole Hotel owned by ATICO Group last night. The tour included drinks at the recently opened Oobe, a trial bite at the newly renovated Vinaigrette, a fine dinner at Tratoria and finally some hot drinks and Argeelah at Safar Khan (Q-Yard). Really don’t know where to place my review, therefore I’m going to have it written in the space provided for Tratoria since it is where the dinner was. Walking into Oobe (previously known as Nai) I was really amazed of how they changed the decoration of the place. A beautifully lit atmosphere with lounge music playing in the background; the colors of the place are just happy warm colors that invite the customers for an enjoyable evening, the bar is relocated to become in the center of the restaurant and serve both surrounding sides at the same time. They also changed the bar itself to become made little mosaic pieces, tall stools, some with back holders and some without and some professional bar tenders that make one of the best virgin mojitos I ever tasted with a nice twist of strawberry in it. Semi private tables are also available, kind of away from the main area of the place. The crowd invited last night was not really big therefore there was enough space for everyone to move freely, though I believe with a bit larger of a crowd the place might become too packed. Walking out for our next visit I couldn’t help staring at the small lit candle behind the glass wall! Just amazing!! Our next stop was to Vinaigrette. The place simply ROCKS! It’s my first visit there they remodeled the place; walking into the new Vinaigrette was a beautiful shock!! Really spacey, comfy seating and the new decoration is unreal. Wooden walls with some bamboo sticks across from the tall French windows that over look the city. The place is to impress! In Vinaigrette we had a couple of Maki bites, taste was good though I have to comment of the quantity or rice as well as to how cooked it was. Quantity needs to be a bit more and the rice was a little bit under cooked. Also, and while walking around the place a thought crossed my mind; how come we don’t have self made orders, I remember and during my travels that at Sushi restaurants usually there are fill up orders and pencils on the tables where the costumer gets to fill his/her order and give it to the waiters. Waiters only took the drinks orders. Another thought is the idea behind a Sushi bar; costumers should be able to ask for the Sushi directly from the cook behind the bar instead of giving the order to a waiter that will in return as the cook to prepare the food. Authorization should be given to the cooks to take orders directly from the clients. Next stop was Trattoria. You can never feel guilty for eating at Tratoria; the food is made from healthy items, it’s never too oily of greasy and for someone like myself quantity should not matter. We started with a nicely garnished appetizer, what seemed to be a HUGE Calamari or squid. Really tasty and yet not fishy at all; there was also some salad which I’m really not a big fan of...makes me feel like a rabbit :-) . After that the waiters brought in the main course; a small tasty pile of spaghetti with broccoli and sun dried tomatoes, on the side there was a piece of nicely cooked baby veal and a piece of chicken that tasted great. After the main dish we were served a dish of desserts that included a piece of chocolate mousse and what tasted like a coffee cake… not really sure but it tasted good. During dinner waiters were walking around with Red and White Wine, but not water; so I had to ask for them to refill my water every now and then (waiters were really professional though they also need to be more attentive). It was my first time at Tratoria and I really like the place. Loved the idea of the open kitchen where you can see the chef and his crew making the food while all dressed in their white and tidy uniforms! The main area of the place isn’t that big but really cozy. One thing I was surprised of during dinner was that when our waiter reached to take away the plates used for the appetizers he grabbed my used silverware and put it back for me on the table to be used again for dinner. At first I thought it was a little slip of mind so I called on the waiter to replace my silverware, but then I noticed that they did that to everyone else by different waiters! The last destination of the tour was Safar Khan (Q-Yard). The same decoration used during Ramadan, nice colorful place; sat in the center of the place where they have really comfy couches that were tempting to nap on, the TV was showing a political interview while music was playing in the background so the TV wasn’t heard. They also had the place covered and heaters were distributed on the sides to maintain an acceptable temperature. I really like it there for it was a quite calm time. Thank you ATICO for all the effort pulled and for the great job you always do! |

Nice place for a quiet cozy evening out for drinks or for dinner. Especially if the weather is nice, the “balcony” area is very nice. FOOD: -Kani Salad: good, nothing special. The shredded crab was too cold (probably served right out of the freezer). -Cheese Burger: good. The meat is cooked just right, juicy and tasty. SERVICE: We had bad luck in our waiter this time. Well, he was either not in the mood, absent minded or just not in the mood. We ordered our drinks and told him to place the order and come back for our food order…well it took him a while to come back to take our food order since he went behind the bar and prepared our drinks himself, which took a good 10 to 15 minutes!!! When ordering our food, he was so bored as if we were telling him a bad joke. But to be fair, he wasn’t rude at all, he was just not friendly. As I mentioned previously, I would go again for sure. |

Trattoria & Al Qasr Reception were given a facelift!! Very nicely done!! A totally new look. Trattoria is no longer what it used to be. The new look is very classy and casual at the same time. It has a very comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. You can go there for coffee, drinks or dinner. The food is good, I would recommend: -Crunchy Salmon Salad -The pasta with pesto (I don't remember the actual name) -The pizza I would go again for sure. |

I went to discover as per Atieh's recommendation. I have to agree that the place is very nice, the decor is modern and crisp, the service is very friendly and speedy. I ordered the Sicilian Chicken and the Green Salad. Here are my recommendations: For the salad, the dressing is pretty good, i liked the mint in the dressing, however, I would ask next time that they put much less amount of dressing on it as it took away much of the tastes of the vegetables. Moreover, the lettuce ended up swimming in the dressing and that made it very soggy. The Sicilian Chicken was okay, the vegetables on the side were fresh and good tasking. Steamed just right. The chicken was a bit under cooked for my taste. Moreover, I would prefer it with much less capers as that amount, mixed with the diced onions and tomatoes made it too sour for me. In general, i was happy to have such light and healthy lunch and I am comparing how I feel today (after today's oily lunch elsewhere) with how I felt yesterday same time, and I tell myself that I should have gone back to Trattoria today :-) |

We decided to go me and my husband with out baby to taste the french cuisine and check the french menu. We have already seen the menu online on the french institute and already had an idea of what we will choose to eat.
The place was very nice, we noticed nice art work probably from Al anda gallery, the people were welcoming and nice at first.
The french Chef was excited as we noticed to make us the starters and they were delicious; however, the waiters were not there to check our orders and ask us if we need anything, the restaurant was empty but the problem is there is no training of customer service, the waiter is standing either chatting to the chef or the accountant or the manager, they all just talk and talk!!!! They wait for us to call them to order the main, we ordered the main, it was nice, the french chef didn't cook it, it was the restaurant chef but it was still nice.
The HUGE problem was with the people's attitude, the waiter was laughing when he served the plate, he wasn't into serving he was more laughing on the presentation of the plate, then the manager was talking to the Jordanian chef about the french chef, slagging him off, the best thing he did is this or that, I thought this is the rudest thing I see and hear, a person coming to teach you nice food, to present to customers a different plate, it should be a learning experience and US!!! the customers! we came to taste french food only to see the people of the restaurant laughing at this chef, what would we think???? It was a terrible experience, I wont' go to this restaurant again unless I know this attitude is changed, it's such a shame, because it is done nicely, cared for, yet the staff is so unmannered!!! They didn't' serve us for desserts until we asked them for it, it came sooo late that we ordered the bill and left the dessert.
We were really disappointed, the food was nice, the restaurant is nice but the people working there were horrible and really badly mannered with bad attitude.
