A lovely place to start your day. This cozy space has a great vibe to it with eclectic furnishings, local art hanging from the walls and funky music playing from the speakers. I had the cafe latte which was very good and it was served to me by very friendly waitstaff. The free WiFi in the cafe makes this a great place to get some work done. If you find yourself in this neighborhood, give CAD a try for a nice little break in your day. |

I actually really like this cafe, it is a nice change from the usual Amman coffee shops. Its quiet, quaint, artsy and simply. I really enjoy going there with my laptop to get some work done, they have free internet, decent coffee, and enjoyable light little snacks such as labna with zaatar. The service is not the best you will find but is really nothing to complain about either. I highly recommend it as a great place to meet friends, a place to grab a light snack, get some work done, or just hang out with a book. The best thing about it is how well lit it is by the natural sunlight. |

I was disappointed too the setting , decorations location and even furniture is cozy and lovely, the problem lays in the quality of service it was too slow you have to wait forever for the menu, then for somebody to come and take your order , bring you the bill... so on. the drinks and desserts had nothing impressive in them as well just plain. |

Unfortunately I was disappointed. Maybe because I expected a lot more coming from ATICO. I went during the afternoon for a quick cup of coffee and dessert with a friend. Walking in yesterday, I didn't feel like it was an "artist's" cafe. There was a huge Warhol-esque print outside the cafe but it looked more like it was left outside for someone to pick up. Aside from the a few books on artists and a sign to promote designing your own t-shirt, it wasn't a kind of place that inspires art, it just looked like a regular cafe. In all fairness I didn't go upstairs, so maybe it was better up there. Considering that it's a cafe, I would've expected to at least have basic options like caffeinated and decaf, full fat or skimmed milk. I know it's not Starbucks but every cafe at least has these basic options. They did have low fat milk but no decaf. I ordered a Latte which was pretty good. I liked the way it was layered and had thick foam on top. My friend ordered the chocolate ball which, we were told, had lazy cake inside. I ordered the chocolate glazed eclair. Those two items were such a disappointment! The chocolate ball was very hard and was solid chocolate with very few and tiny specs of pistachio nut. The chocolate was of poor quality and although it wasn't that large of a ball, we couldn't finish it. The eclair was too big. The choux pastry was too thick, very dry and did not have a buttery taste at all, even though an original recipe would have a lot of butter in it. The vanilla pastry cream was tasteless and clumpy and the chocolate glaze crumbled off the pastry. Service was laid back and friendly, which was nice but after my first visit there, I wasn't given any reason to go back unless I really have to. |

Stopped there a few days ago for a quick coffee. It is a nice place to catch up quietly with some friends. Nice decorations and theme in a nice location. Menu is what you would find at any small caffee, it contains all the basics. I liked the fact that the prices are cheap relative to other similar cafe and also the fact that the ground floor is non-smoking. I would go back there again. |

I really want to like this place - I love the sidewalk tables on a sunny day, the kitschy furniture and these days it lives up to its name more than it did when they first opened. Service very slow but very friendly.
My friends and I went to Cafe des Artiste for a light lunch and coffee. Soup of the day was broccoli soup that took forever to be served. It was a disappointment. It was green but it tasted like water. No herbs, no spices, no flavor. The chicken caesar salad had the same boring commercial dressing taste the chicken was overcooked, very hard and chewy.
Funny thing was that when two of the guys at our table decided to order a second round of chicken caesar salad and some chicken sandwich because they were still hungry, we were told that they ran out of chicken! This was at around 3pm! The cafe wasn't even full so clearly they were not even stocked for the day.
For such a "creative" cafe, the menu lacked any creativity. They underestimate the intelligence of their customers when they put an artist's name to the same boring food we can get anywhere else. Creative food doesn't have to be expensive or weird. It would be nice if it can just be unique - a continuum to their concept.
Because of our complaint, they served espresso and cupcakes on the house. It was a nice gesture and made us feel like they really do care and want to try and please customers.
One note to the management - espresso is not commonly served with lemon peel in Italy. In fact if it is served with lemon peel, it implies that the espresso is of poor quality and the lemon peel is to reduce the bitterness. The addition of lemon peel to espresso reflects badly on the establishment.
